                           Official Biography of Most Worshipful Grand Master Carl A. Williams, 33°

Brother Carl Williams was born the youngest of five boys to Clarence and Lula Williams in Cleveland, Ohio, on May 4, 1958. He was baptized at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in June 1958 and has been a member there for over 55 years.

Brother Williams attended St. Adalbert Grade School and went on to Benedictine and John Adams High School, where he graduated in 1976. He attended Ohio State University in 1995 for leadership and Steward training courses. He has also taken several safety courses.

In September of 1974, Brother Williams began working as a stock clerk for Pick-n-Pay Supermarkets until March 1980 when he began his career with the U.S. Postal Service. During the 34 years, he has worked in various areas of Supervision and Safety. He has also served as a union steward, financial secretary and an administrative assistant to the President of the Cleveland Area Local American Postal Workers Union. He retired in March 2014 as a retail sales associate for the U.S. Postal Service.

In the spring of 1982 he met a beautiful young lady who was his co-worker named Cheryl who became the love of his life and his wife. They are the proud parents of two wonderful daughters Secoya and Shadae. They also have five magnificent grandchildren: Raymond and Roman Carey, Kendall, Roy Allen Lejacque, Jr., and Raylen Bumpers.

Brother Williams is a member of Ecclesiastes Lodge, No. 120. He was initiated an Entered Apprentice in January 1991 and served as Worshipful Master in 2000. He was Exalted a Royal Arch Mason in Cuyahoga Chapter, No. 36, in October 1991 and served as Excellent High Priest in 2007. He was elevated to a Sublime Prince in Bezaleel Consistory, No. 15, on October 19, 1991; and he served as Commander-in-Chief for 2006-2008.

Brother Williams received his 33° in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on May 26, 2002, and was reclassified to a Sovereign Grand Inspector General in Chicago, Illinois, on May 22, 2005. He also serves as the Chief Deputy Convention Director of the United Supreme Council A.A.S.R of Freemasons, Prince Hall Affiliation (PHA), Northern Jurisdiction U.S.A, Inc. (Assistant to S.G.I.G Charles W. Hales 33° P.G.M.).

On November 23, 1991, Brother Williams was created a Noble of El Hasa Temple, No. 28, in which he was made an Honorary Past Potentate and was appointed an Imperial officer of the Convention Department of the A.E.A.O.N.M.S of North and South America, Inc., PHA, in Atlanta, Georgia 2003. He was accepted into the Legion of Honor in Cincinnati, Ohio 2015.

In the spring of 1992, he was greeted a Royal and Select Master in Adoniram Council, No. 1, where he served as Thrice Illustrious Master for the year of 1999. Also, in 1992 Brother Williams was dubbed a Knights Templar in Emmanuel Commandery, No. 32, and served as Eminent Commander for the year of 2002. On June 14, 2008, in Dayton, Ohio, he was knighted as a Knight of the York Cross of Honor and made a member of Alpha Priory, No. 1.

In 2001 Most Worshipful Past Grand Master Sidney D. Broadnax appointed Brother Williams the Editor of the Northern Jurisdiction of the State of Ohio for the Most Worshipful Prince Grand Lodge newspaper, The Lamp. He also appointed him as The Lamp Reporter and Souvenir Journal chairperson, for the Seventh Masonic District and as a member of the Grand Lodge Mentoring Committee. He was appointed Deputy Grand Lecture of the 7th Masonic District by Most Worshipful Past Grand Master Gregory S. Snead in 2003 and was reappointed by Most Worshipful Past Grand Master Joe L. Smith in 2005 where he served until 2007. In 2007, Most Worshipful Past Grand Master Rev. James H. Willis, Sr., appointed him Right Worshipful Grand Lecture. On August 2, 2009, he was elected Right Worshipful Junior Grand Warden of the Most Worshipful Prince Grand Lodge for the State of Ohio. In Columbus, Ohio, on August 9, 2011, he was elected Right Worshipful Senior Grand Warden of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge for the State of Ohio. On August 6, 2013, he was elected Right Worshipful Deputy Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge for the State of Ohio.

On August 12, 2015, at the Dayton Convention Center at Dayton, Ohio, with the blessings of the Supreme Architect of the Universe and the will of the Craft, Brother Carl A. Williams was elected and installed as the 62nd Most Worshipful Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Ohio Free and Accepted Masons.

Most Worshipful Grand Master Carl A. Williams' favorite past times are spending time with his family and friends, encouraging brothers to subdue their passions and improve themselves in Masonry and praising God from whom all his blessings flow.
